Omega-3 oil and fish oil

However, getting too much omega-3 fats can be harmful. The usual dose is in the range of 1-6 grams per day. Taking 13-14 grams per day has a blood-thinning effect in healthy individuals. The tolerable daily intake of coumarin is 0,1 mg per kilogram of body weight. Consuming more than this can cause liver toxicity and cancer. Based on the tolerable daily intake, it is not recommended to consume more than 0,5-2 grams of cassia cinnamon each day. However, you can eat 5 grams (1 teaspoon) of Ceylon cinnamon daily.

Coffee

Coffee is a beneficial beverage that contains antioxidants and other active compounds. It reduces the risk of liver diseases, type 2 diabetes and neurodegenerative diseases.

Liver

However, these vegetables contain compounds called thiocyanates. It limits the body's ability to absorb iodine. This causes a condition called hypothyroidism. Hypothyroidism means the thyroid gland is less active. As a result, the thyroid gland enlarges, weight gain, constipation, skin dryness and weakness appear. People with thyroid problems should not consume these vegetables too much.

Brazil nuts

Brazil nutsare among the best dietary sources of selenium. Selenium is an essential trace element but can be toxic in high amounts.

The recommended daily intake of selenium is 50-70 micrograms for adults. The upper tolerance level is about 300 micrograms for adults. A large Brazil nut contains 95 micrograms of selenium.

This is more than the recommended daily amount for adults. It is more than three times the recommended amount for children. Consuming just 4-5 Brazil nuts will result in an adult reaching the upper limit of their safe selenium intake.

Symptoms of selenium toxicity include loss of hair and nails, digestive problems, and memory difficulties.
